The Miss World pageant is the oldest surviving major international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951 Since his death in 2000, Morley's wife, Julia Morley, co-chairs the pageant.

Shamcey Supsup is a Filipina beauty titleholder who represented the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2011 pageant, in which she was declared third runner-up. She also topped the Architecture Licensure Examination in July 2010 in the Philippines.[2] Supsup graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines
